Multi-brand expertise, one contractor
Panjia works with Belgard, Orco, Angelus, and Ackerstone. We are not a single-brand dealer. We recommend the right product for your project's style, budget, and application without steering you toward one brand's margin.
10-year workmanship warranty
Most paver contractors warranty only the materials. Panjia backs every installation with a 10-year workmanship warranty covering the base, bedding, and installation itself. If it fails due to our work, we fix it.
In-house crews
Our in-house crew handles every project end-to-end, so the standard of work stays consistent from excavation to final inspection.

We work with four of Southern California's most established paver manufacturers. Each has distinct strengths. We match the brand to your project goals, not the other way around.
Belgard
One of the most widely recognized paver brands in North America, known for contemporary designs and a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. Belgard offers natural stone-look options, modern large-format pavers, and a broad color palette. Backed by a lifetime warranty against cracking.
Orco
Orco has manufactured concrete pavers in Southern California for over 60 years. A practical, durable choice with a wide range of color blends, sizes, and patterns well-suited to North County San Diego's climate and soil conditions.
Angelus
Angelus is the choice for homeowners drawn to complex patterns and interesting designs. Their paving stones offer excellent design flexibility and are a strong option for custom pattern work including herringbone, basket weave, and decorative borders.
Ackerstone
Ackerstone specializes in vibrant, solid color options that set it apart from other manufacturers. A strong choice when a bold, modern aesthetic is the goal, particularly popular for contemporary home exteriors and commercial applications.
How Panjia Installs Pavers
Site Assessment
Every project starts with a thorough site evaluation. We assess drainage requirements, grading and elevation changes, soil conditions, utility locations, and HOA or permit requirements before any design is finalized. Nothing gets skipped.
Demolition and Excavation
We remove existing surfaces and excavate to the required depth. A typical driveway requires 9 to 10 inches of excavation. Patios and walkways typically require 6 to 7 inches. High-clay soils get a geotextile filter fabric between the native soil and base layer to prevent base migration over time.
Base Preparation
We install a Class II road base compacted to approximately 95% using a plate compactor. This is the most important step in paver longevity. Pavers are only as good as what's underneath them. We do not cut corners on base depth or compaction.
Bedding Layer
A 1-inch layer of concrete sand is screeded over the compacted base. This gives us a perfectly level surface for laying pavers and serves a second purpose: during final compaction, the pavers settle approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch into the sand, which helps lock them together.
Paver Installation
Our crew hand-lays every paver one at a time, maintaining tight alignment, consistent spacing, and pattern continuity across the full project area. Color blending is managed throughout to avoid clustering.
Border Course
A concrete border course is poured and the border pavers are wet-set into it with steel rebar reinforcement. This locks the field pavers in permanently and gives the installation its finished edge. All field pavers are saw-cut to meet the border before it is poured.
Joint Sand and Final Compaction
The final step is applying joint sand and doing a full-plate compaction pass across the surface. Standard angular sand or polymeric sand (which hardens to resist weeds and erosion) is swept into the joints and vibrated down. Your pavers are then ready for use.
Paver Installation Pricing in San Marcos and North County San Diego
Most paver projects in North County San Diego run $20 to $35 per square foot installed for concrete pavers. A 400 square foot patio typically falls between $9,000 and $14,000. Porcelain pavers and pool decks with custom coping run higher, often $25 to $55 per square foot depending on configuration.
What moves the number: paver brand and material selected, pattern complexity (herringbone and diagonal cuts add labor), base depth required for the application, existing surface removal and haul, drainage corrections, and site access. A reputable San Diego installer rarely bids below $20 per square foot. Below that price, base or drainage is usually being cut.
Long-term value: quality pavers last 30 to 50 years with basic maintenance. Individual damaged pavers can be replaced without breaking up the entire surface. When comparing to poured concrete, the longevity and repair flexibility of pavers typically deliver better value over a 20-year horizon. Financing available with low fixed rates and terms up to 20 years.
Typical Installed Ranges

Signs It's Time to Replace Your Concrete or Asphalt Surface
Cracks spreading across the surface
Poured concrete cracks from seismic activity, soil movement, and tree roots, and patchwork repairs rarely hold.
Water pooling near your foundation or doors
Poor drainage from an aging patio or driveway can cause foundation issues over time. Pavers can be re-graded and reset.
Oil stains, spalling, or surface deterioration
Concrete driveways absorb oil and spall in San Diego's UV. Pavers can be individually replaced if stained or damaged.
You want a design your neighbors don't have
Poured concrete offers one look. Pavers offer hundreds of patterns, colors, and border options.
Preparing to sell your home
Paver driveways and patios consistently deliver 60 to 70 percent ROI in San Diego's competitive real estate market.
Tree roots have disrupted your existing surface
Pavers can be lifted, roots addressed, and reset without replacing the entire surface.
A site visit from Panjia walks you through the options, shows you material samples on your property, and gives you a written number with no pressure to commit.

Panjia backs every paver installation with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty against cracking on the paver materials themselves, plus a 10-year workmanship warranty on the installation. That 10-year workmanship warranty covers the base, bedding, and installation, the parts most installers do not warrant at all. If your pavers shift, settle, or fail due to installation issues within 10 years, we make it right.
Most paver projects take one to two weeks from demolition to final inspection, depending on scope, site conditions, and project size. A standard patio runs two to three days with a full crew. Larger driveways, pool decks, or projects requiring significant grading or drainage work take longer. Panjia provides a realistic timeline in your written estimate before work begins.
Most at-grade patio installations are exempt from building permits in North County San Diego cities. Retaining walls above three feet, drainage alterations, and any work in the public right-of-way typically do require permits. Driveway installations that change the footprint or drainage pattern may also trigger permit requirements. Panjia advises on permit requirements for your specific project during the free estimate and handles the paperwork when needed.
Interlocking concrete pavers flex with ground movement, making them significantly more resistant to cracking than poured concrete slabs. If a paver is damaged, individual units can be removed and replaced without breaking up the entire surface. Poured concrete is less expensive upfront but far more costly to repair and cannot match the design flexibility of pavers. For Southern California's seismic activity and soil conditions, interlocking pavers are a more resilient long-term choice.
Quality interlocking pavers properly installed with a compacted base last 30 to 50 years in San Diego's climate. The base and bedding layers determine how long pavers stay level and functional, which is why Panjia uses a Class II road base compacted in lifts on every project. Pavers backed by Belgard's lifetime manufacturer's warranty are guaranteed against cracking for the life of the product.
